The Orthodox Faith The UAOC Abroad professes the fullness of the Orthodox Faith which is found in the fullness of its Holy Tradition which is composed of: a. The definitions of the Faith as expressed in the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, all the creedal definitions of the Seven Ecumenical Councils and Local Councils, and the Encyclical Letters of the Orthodox Patriarchs of 1848 and 1895; b. The celebration of the Holy Mysteries of the Church, that is: Baptism; Chrismation; Eucharist; Absolution; Ordination of men to the orders of bishop, priest and deacon; Matrimony between one man and one woman; and Unction of the Sick; c. The Word of God as contained in the Old and New Testaments; d. The Apostolic Succession of bishops; e. The Liturgical Year with its Feasts, Liturgical Services and prayers; f. The affirmation of traditional Christian morality; g. The spirituality and life of prayer; h. The importance of monastic life. |
